Taking The Road Less Traveled.

Creating demand isn’t easy. Finding answers to certain problems is harder than it may appear and often requires taking an unusual path. Enter John Allen, the newest addition to the Technekes’ family and someone well-familiar with unconventional choices.

Most folks would insist that a college education is essential to success. But don’t tell John. He chose to forgo college, instead opting to teach himself popular computer languages.  He’s ended up with a remarkable resumé in computer engineering, and we’re the lucky recipients.

Originally from Maine, John comes to us via Southern California, where he learned to surf — or at least tried. He arrived in Charlotte (goodbye beautiful West Coast beaches) after landing a job with ettain group, an IT consulting firm. There, he helped introduce Muzak to Ruby and Ruby on Rails, relatively new computer programming languages.

John joins our Integrated Strategy Marketing (IMS) Team as a computer engineer. Ben Gilman, director of IMS, said “I am excited to have John on the team and look forward to leveraging his skills to improve the speed and quality of our technical delivery.  Already, John is reengineering parts of our core infrastructure to help us deploy applications more quickly, as well as make them more flexible with improved reporting and monitoring.”

John may have taken a road less traveled, but we are thrilled his path led to us.
